Looking for a Birthday Present Philanthropy Idea?

Consider making your birthday matter this year.  Give up the gifts and ask for your age in dollars to donate to “Charity Water!”   100% of your donation will directly fun water project costs in developing nations.  Use the mycharity: water website to create a fundraising campaign and start collecting donations.  In 18 months, donors can see the photos of the project they helped fund.  Our girls 2nd birthday is in January and this year we’re going to be asking friends & family to donate to this charity in their name versus wrapping up adorable clothes and toys.  We already have a “plastic explosion” of toys at our house.  Our family is super excited to host a Charity Water campaign for the girl’s second birthday and make a difference.  We’ll put keepsakes from this campaign in their scrapbooks and have a story to tell them when they get older.  We wanted to share this opportunity with you for consideration for your own birthday, your child’s birthday, or even a sports even fundraiser or special occasion.  It’s a great program!   {http://mycharitywater.org/LexieKenzie2}

You may already be familiar with this charity from Rachel Beckworth’s 9th Birthday Wish Story that has been in the news.  She raised over $1 million from her story and unfortunate passing.  She was an inspiration to our family and will be forever remembered.  {http://www.mycharitywater.org/p/campaign?campaign_id=16396}

Remembering 9 year old Rachel tonight through Charity Water Donations...

A 9 year old girl, Rachel, lost her life in the I-90 crash this past week in Seattle, WA. She was a member of our church and she believed in Jesus.  She was ready to get baptized next week and was very excited.  For her 9th birthday she asked people to donate to the Charity Water foundation that provides clean water in Africa through drilling water wells.  Originally, she missed her $300 goal by $80.  After our community heard about this devastating news to such a young girl she has now reach $80,000 tonight!  Her spinal cord was severed and she lost her life the other night.  She is with God in heaven looking down on us all and guiding us to give to a greater cause.

I cannot imagine my life without my 17 month old daughters.  The pain this family must be going through is unbearable.  Our community is showing our love, support, and faith by donating to Rachel's birthday dream and remembering her great life.  Please read the article below, consider joining us in donating to Rachel's birthday gift to Charity water and most importantly, HUG your Little ones a few extra times this week.  Life is short, make the most out of each and every day!
