Meet "Igi," our SPONSORED child from Africa!
We want to introduce you to a NEW extended family member. His name is Igirimbabazi Josoue and he was born Aug 18, 2002 in Rwanda, Africa. During our Jeremy Camp concert last night we felt moved to make a monthly commitment to sponsor "Igi" until he turns 21. The charity, "Compassion," provides meals, school supplies, etc. to children all over the world. "Compassion's ministry is focused on the individual child and his or her development. By working holistically with individual children to address their spiritual, economic, social and physical needs, we present every child with an opportunity to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults." During the concert we raised our hand and were handed Igi's card. After reading it and knowing we could make a difference through this charity in his life we decided to make the commitment. All it costs is a $45 monthly donation. The AWESOME part about this charity is you can send him letters from our family, from the girls in the future, pictures, and even go visit him someday. We've been looking for a children's charity to be apart of and feel like this is a great fit for our family and we're already in love with this little boy and his picture. Boys in Africa have a hard time getting sponsored and how could you put his card back and pick a different child after looking at his little face! Plus this way Daddy has a "boy" in the family to take care of since we're pretty set with just our 2 girls right now. Here's some pictures and info about Igi. Click the link below for more information on the charity. Today in church at Eastlake we found out our church is also asking families to sponsor this program this holiday season! Guess we got a head-start with this AWESOME group! We're so excited to start writing this child and making a difference in his life. We hope you are smiling with us in our good news about this addition to our family! :)

Plan for the future and get your Will, Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directions documented with Quicken's WillMaker!
Has your family planned for the future? No matter how many possessions you have, everyone should have a will, power of attorney identified, and health care directions documented. Now that you have a family this is even more important. Who would you like to take care of your kids if an unfortunate event happens to you? Have you asked that person(s)? We had these documents before our girls arrived but after their birth we truly realized the importance of updating these documents. Also, after going through the recent death of my grandma and my husband's great grandma it was so helpful to already know their funeral wishes. Its a personal decision that no one likes to think about; however, it makes it so much easier for the grieving family members to honor you if you've already thought about the type of service and if you'd like to be buried or cremated. Lawyers for complicated estates are wonderful! However, they typically charge about $200 an hour. For simple family estates we've found that this software is perfect to meet our needs. We wanted to share this topic with you since unfortunately its 100% certain that some day we all will pass. Why not take the time now to make it easier for your loved ones to get through this period and spend their time remembering the happy moments versus making difficult decisions and digging through paperwork.
