On Saturdays and Sundays only, from June 25 until September 4, 2011, the zoo will offer a free shuttle service to help Eastside zoo patrons save on the cost of gas, parking, tolling, and it will be a fun, hassle-free way to ride to the zoo and do right by the environment."
"Twenty-five passenger shuttles, provided by SP Plus Transportation, will pick passengers up at the South Kirkland Park and Ride, 10610 NE 38th Pl., in the main bus loop and drop people off at the zoo’s South Entrance. On Saturdays and Sundays, the shuttles will pick up every half hour, starting at exactly 9:15 a.m. and ending at 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only. Soon, a GPS-tracking service and smart phone application information will be added to this site so users will know exactly when they can expect a shuttle to arrive at the South Kirkland Park and Ride or the zoo’s South Entrance."
"Each shuttle includes compartments for strollers or luggage, seat belts, and up to eight convertible car seats for children 5 to 40 pounds will be available in each shuttle for your convenience. A handicap-accessible shuttle will also be available."
"Reservations are not required for the service and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis (see schedule)."
"The zoo’s Eastside Shuttle is a partnership with King County Metro with a focus on reducing vehicle impacts and providing transportation convenience and ease. This pilot project could help us create future transportation improvements in other regions of King County. We hope you enjoy the ride!"
Thank you Sarah for sharing this FREE shuttle service! We love taking our family to the zoo!
