Setting up Meal Deliveries for a Friend?

Know another family that is about to have a newborn, going through an illness, or just needs help and meal delivery would make a difference?  Try using the site 'Take Them A Meal' to create a schedule, send it to friends to access, and allow people to pick dates & record dinner deliveries.  This way the lucky family receiving assistance doesn't end up with Lasagna every night!  Our church friends setup a meal delivery when I was on bedrest for 3 months and during the first few months of our girl's lives.  It made the biggest difference to have a home cooked warm meal when my husband was working full-time and serving his beyond pregnant wife during my strict bedrest and when we came home from the NICU exhausted the first few weeks when our girls were born.  We'll forever have those generous people in our hearts that helped us survive that period of our life and filled our hearts with love through a "warm meal."  Check this site out to help another family out.

Time to Lose Weight? Start Counting Calories with 'My Fitness Pal'

Hey Parents, have you ever heard of the "My Fitness Pal" app for your phone?  For the past year we've been hearing about how our friends are using this app to lose weight and we've downloaded it but haven't been using it on a regular basis.  Now, after working out for a month and noticing the inches going down but not the baby weight, I'm going to start to use this application everyday.  Starting right now!

Everyone keeps telling I need to exercise but ALSO watch what I eat.  I feel like I've been eating healthy and doing a ton better but honestly I have no idea how many calories I consume a day.  I'm sure my glasses of wine after an exhausting day chasing the girls around the house really doesn't help either!  However, I'm vowing today to start using this app and working on my eating habit.  The fun part of this app is it lets you connect with your friends and cheer them on!  If you have an iphone, Droid, or Blackberry you can download this app for FREE!  Why not give it a try with me!?  I just used the "barcode scanning" feature today and it was awesome! I held my phone (Droid) over the food package and it scanned the item like at the grocery store.  The next thing I new it found the exact brand of my Costco veggie burger I ate for lunch and entered the calories for me!  Its actually kinda fun to scan your food!  If you haven't heard of this app, download it, setup your basic information, and start tracking your food and exercise routines.  The app syncs your phone info with your online account so you can use your cell phone or laptop anytime to enter your information.  Good Luck!  Lets get that baby weight off!!!

Review your Credit Report once a Year

As a strong financial practice, review your credit report once a year.  Make sure that all credit cards listed are actually yours and have the right information recorded and balances.  If you need to dispute a charge the websites have an area for you to enter that information OR you can call the company listed to ensure that account is closed and off your record.  There are several websites that *offer* FREE credit reports but if they ask you to enter a credit card before giving you the report its NOT the right site to use.  We learned the hard way one year and were charged $5.99 monthly for a credit monitoring service we never signed up for!  It was such a pain to get rid of this service and a credit back on our credit card!  Use the site below and review your information at least once a year so that when you do go buy a car, house, etc. the company is getting the right credit score for you.

Fight identity theft by monitoring and reviewing your credit report. You may request your free credit report online, request your report by phone or request your report through the mail. Free credit reports requested online are viewable immediately upon authentication of identity. Free credit reports requested by phone or mail will be processed within 15 days of receiving your request.
